Coordinator – Ungaluk Program (PRE08052022)

Job Description:

Under the Supervision of the Director of Makivik President’s Department, the Ungaluk Program Coordinator shall have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full implementation and coordination of the Ungaluk Program;
  • Supervision/oversight of 3 Regional Program Agents;
  • Ensure proper communications with proponents, regional organizations and Nunavimmiut at large regarding the program, its objectives and activities;
  • Ensure the coordination for meetings of the “Ungaluk Advisory Committee” established under Sanarrutik Section 4.4, and provide the Nunavik members of this Committee with logistical support;
  • In collaboration with the “Ungaluk Advisory Committee”, establish priorities for the implementation of funding proposals;
  • Receive and evaluate funding proposals, and inform Makivik, KRG and the “Ungaluk Advisory Committee” of all such proposals;
  • Submit funding recommendations to KRG/Makivik joint executives for approval;
  • Produce, and follow-up on the yearly budget and expenditures for the administration of the Ungaluk Program;
  • Collaborate with the Makivik Finance Department on the financial management of approved projects;
  • Collaborate with the Makivik Finance Department to provide the Makivik/KRG joint executives with periodical statements of revenues and expenses for projects being implemented;
  • Identify other known funding programs under which proposals may qualify, and inform the proponents;
  • Inform proponents of the decisions of Makivik/KRG regarding project proposals/requests for funding;
  • With Ungaluk staff, ensure that proponents provide regular activity and expense reports for approved projects;
  • Respect and maintain the Code of Conduct and Confidentiality policies as required by Makivik.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in management/strategic roles;
  • Possess a DEC in Administration, relevant experience will be recognized;
  • Strong leadership, communication and planning skills required;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut and English both orally and in writing is required;
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in French would be an asset;
  • Strong written skills;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Programs (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Reliable and autonomous;
  • Good knowledge of accounting procedures and budget management.
