In this campaign people spoke about the need to do more to cut poverty, the need to exercise more control over our lands and that has encouraged me even more. I take the mandate Nunavimmiut have given me seriously”

The Makivik Corporation thanks its Chief Returning Officer Jeannie May and her many officers in the communities for the Universal Elections that ran smooth and efficient.

It’s also interesting to note the elections results were counted and published within a 2 hour period. The polls were closed at 6PM and by 8PM all of the community results had been counted and received at Makivik’s head office.
