Cruise North, Makivik’s most recent venture, takes advantage of the climate change equation from an economic viewpoint. As Arctic waters are open for longer periods each year, the company is moving into High Arctic adventure cruises to northern communities and spectacular remote locations and wildlife reserves. Cruise North offers enormous potential and also complements corporate objectives to build a sustainable eastern Arctic tourism business. In coordination with First Air, Cruise North brings as many as 60 passengers for a week-long tour of the Arctic.
