A banner on the front cover of each Makivik Magazine reads: "Serving the Inuit of Nunavik." This in-house publication, which is created for each of the four seasons, does not carry any advertising and is funded within the operations costs of the corporation. It is produced by Makivik staff and includes contributions of text, photos, and other illustrations from the various Makivik subsidiary companies as well as from individuals and organizations associated with the Inuit in Nunavik—the beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement.

While the magazine is here to tell about the events of Makivik, it promotes the activities from within the region and describes activities by or for Nunavik Inuit outside the region as well. The opinions that we express are not necessarily those of Makivik Corporation or its executive.

Makivik Magazine in its paper format is delivered free of charge to all beneficiary households in all of the Nunavik communities and to a modest mailing list of private individuals, government officials, and interested media. It is hereby also offered on our website in digital format for your downloading pleasure. We invite our readers to share your stories, letters, or pictures through this very popular magazine.
