The following is a list of donations and distributions made by Makivik during the period October 1, 2004 to September 30, 2005 that directly benefited the communities and beneficiaries of the JBNQA.

In the past, Makivik donations and distributions had come solely from income from its investments to benefit community projects and support political aims. Since 2002 however, at a time when the drop in stockmarket affected the outcome on investments, donations and distributions have been supplemented with funds from the Sanarrutik Community and Economic Development Agreement. The Sanarrutik Funds provide annual financial support for Nunavik Inuit organizations such Avataq Cultural Institute, Taqramiut Nipingat Inc, the recently created Nunavik LandHolding Corporation's Association, and the Hunting Fishing and Trapping Association, and the Saputiit Inuit Youth Association. Other reoccurring donations from Makivik such as the Christmas Food Baskets fund, Junior Rangers Program, the Elders fund and the Income Tax Project were able to continue.

A major donation for a gymnasium in the community of Kangirsujuaq and the Trapping fund were provided directly from Makivik funds, and Sanarrutik funds also provided for a good sum for Nunavik Day Care Centers, a swimming pool project, and the development of a new subsidiary company Cruise North Expeditions Inc. Several community projects have been provided for by the Sanarrutik Agreements, which are approved at the annual budget meeting of the Board of Directors of Makivik.

It is important to note that as the world economies are looking toward the stock markets of the United States of America since September 11, 2001, the returns on investments had not been as high as hoped for. However, there has been an improvement and better than expected outcome on returns. The Sanarrutik Funds have allowed for positive community development in Nunavik.
